Octavio attended Central Heights Schools where he played baseball and ran track. He worked as a maintenance man in the local poultry industry, and he aspired to join the police academy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, track & field, and baseball. He loved country music.
Octavio was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maria Garcia.
He is survived by his father, Reyes Vera; mother, Fabiola Santoyo; brother, Reyes Vera, Jr.; sister, Esther Huesca; sister, Idalia Vera; paternal grandparents, Rogaciano Vera and Ester Vera-Diaz; maternal grandfather, Maurilio Santoyo; nephew, James Sarabia; and niece, Ilena Sarabia.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2020, with a Rosary reading beginning at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Mario Ibanez at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Nacogdoches officiated by Father Carlos Rangel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rodolfo Sarabia, Reyes Vera, Jr., Reyes Vera, Sr., Ramses Perez, Tomas Vera, Colton Mills, Michel Huesca, Dylan Wall, and Christian Castaneda.

Octavio Vera de Nacogdoches falleció el sábado 9 de Mayo de 2020 en Nacogdoches a la edad de 18 años. Nació el 22 de Junio de 2001 en Nacogdoches de padres Reyes Vera y Fabiola Santoyo.
Octavio asistió a las Escuelas de Central Heights donde jugó béisbol y corrió atletismo. Trabajó como hombre de mantenimiento en la industria avícola local, y aspiraba a unirse a la academia de policía. Le gustaba la cazeria, la pesca, el atletismo y el béisbol. Amaba la música country.
Octavio fue precedido en la muerte por su abuela materna, María García.
Le sobreviven su padre, Reyes Vera; madre, Fabiola Santoyo; hermano, Reyes Vera, Jr .; hermana Esther Huesca; hermana, Idalia Vera; abuelos paternos, Rogaciano Vera y Ester Vera-Diaz; abuelo materno, Maurilio Santoyo; sobrino, James Sarabia; y sobrina, Ilena Sarabia.
Una visita se llevará a cabo de 5:00 a 8:00 p.m. Viernes 15 de mayo de 2020, con una lectura del Rosario a partir de las 7:00 p.m. por el diácono Mario Ibáñez en Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Una misa de entierro cristiano se llevará a cabo a las 10:00 a.m. del sábado 16 de mayo de 2020, en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Nacogdoches oficiada por el Padre Carlos Rangel. Seguirá el sepelio en Sunset Memorial Park.
