On May 13, 2020 Richard L. “Captain De” deLottinville passed away, after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Doris May deLottinville (nee Townsley), for over 50 years; devoted father and stepfather of Richard William deLottinville, Yvonne Marie deLottinville, Alfred Joseph deLottinville, Kathleen Hodges and her husband Michael, Michael Connolly, and Mary Scheerer and her husband Robert ; cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving siblings.
Richard was born in Lawrence Massachusetts on October 6, 1937 to Lucien and Beatrice deLottinville. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean War. After his service in the Navy Richard relocated to Maryland. He loved music, boating, wood-working, train collecting, and creating stained glass art. He volunteered at the VA in Perry Point for several years.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date at Union Chapel UMC (Joppa, MD). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
