After serving in The United States Army as S.P. 4E4 teletype operator, John became the youngest bar owner in the state of Michigan at 21 years 3 months old. Soon after John married Mildred K. Bliss September 11, 1965. They raised two sons,John Di Vico IV and Joseph Anthony Di Vico.
After retirement from AT&T John and Millie moved to Flagler Beach, Florida to be close to John and Mary.
John had a love of music and shared this gift with his wife and children. His mastery of electronics led John to become a ham radio operator achieving the designation of ”Extra” a level only achieved by 9,601 residents in the state of Florida.
John was a Detroiter, tough, yet loving . He represented all things Detroit and loved all the sports teams from his beloved city. Especially his Detroit Red Wings.
John is survived by his loving wife Millie “Gidget”, his sons John and Joseph, his grandchildren John, Elise and Giovanna. His brothers Robert, Dennis and Gregory. Along with many family and friends who will cherish his memory.
John will be laid to rest in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
