David was born in Waco, Texas, on April 23, 1953 to Carlton Riddell, Jr. and Mary Nell Jayroe Riddell. He grew up and went to school in Dallas. David enlisted in the United States Army and was in Ft. Knox, Kentucky boot camp. He served in Germany at the time the United States was at war with Vietnam. David enjoyed fresh and saltwater fishing, going to the beach and crabbing, and playing his guitar and harmonica. He was a happy go lucky person and loved laughing and having a good time with family and friends. David was known for “the look”. He would tilt his head down, look over the top of his glasses, and open his eyes wide when he heard something funny or someone said something crazy. Above all, David adored his beloved companion, Shadow. She went everywhere with him, sitting in the front seat like his best friend, and she was. David was passionate about watching his favorite team, the Dallas cowboys, play football.
Preceding David in death were parents, Carlton and Mary Riddell.
