It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our great man.
Robert Lee Pallett Sr. age 85, of Tenino, Washington, passed away on May 19th, 2020. He was born in Nebraska on 12-26-34, to Roy C. and Lena P. (Brown) Pallett. His father followed construction so Bob moved to many places with his parents before settling in Stayton Oregon. There is where he met and married his high school sweetheart Colleen Hales on 4-27-57.
Bob was a logger and he loved it! He may have been content with that for the rest of his life however he was called to serve in the Army and deployed to Italy. Colleen and Robert Jr. followed and Patrick was born in Italy. They then moved back to the states and lived in Stayton, Oregon where Alison, Gina and Tim were born. Bob returned to logging which he always loved before eventually moving to Tenino where he lived on his 10 acre country home until passing. He served as postmaster in Tenino and retired in 1992.
Bob can be remembered as being a fisherman, hunter, longtime member of the Eagles, and also the cubmaster for the boys in Cub Scouts. He was a wonderful husband and father. He never missed any of his children's school activities and was always a positive influence in their lives. He enjoyed traveling to watch his grandchildren participate in sports and activities in Oregon and Hawaii for which they will always remember.
Bob had many good friends in the Stayton area and Tenino as well. His longtime hunting buddy Donald Anderson and logging buddy Melvin Mustoe have many stories they could tell.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Alison Pallett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Colleen, and children Robert Jr (Carol) Pallett, Patrick Pallett, Gina (Shawn) Rooney, Timothy (Marcy) Pallett and grandchildren Robert (Dagny) Rooney, Logan Rooney, Scott (Gloria Gonzalez) Rooney, LeeAnn (Rumen) Doggett, Nathan Pallett, and Mathew (Alohi Kapoi) Pallett and Great- Grandchildren Romona, Roman and Shae-lynn and nephew, Roy Pallett and cousin, Connie Farnsworth.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions the family will have a private family burial at Forest Grove Cemetery on June 6th at noon. Gathering to follow at the Pallett home.
Dad was kind, honest and as deeply proud of all his family as we are of him.
