After graduating, he worked in motorcycle sales representative for ten years selling after-market parts. In 2006, he began Mortgage Lending at Synovus bank and had been loyal to the company ever since.
Joey was a man who could achieve at anything. Besides his many talents, he loved and enjoyed a good game. He received multiple titles and awards in Motocross between the ages of 21 and 33.
Joey enjoyed several hobbies including being a semi-professional restaurant and bar critic, avid eclectic reader of books, hiker of the Appalachian Trail, and being an intellectually opinionated Conservative.
Joey was full of joy, laughs, full of life and loved a good vacation. His favorite spots to enjoy with friends and family were San Destin, Florida, Blue Ridge parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Kauai, Hawaii.
His loved ones will always remember him as a hilarious, intelligent, politically incorrect “a**hole of a sweetheart”. He was an incredible husband, father, confidant and friend. His life will always be remembered in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Joey is survived by his partner of 26 years and wife of five years, Tamela L. Dorsett, of Roswell, Georgia; beautiful and intelligent daughter, Anna Dorsett, of Greensboro, North Carolina; incredible step father, Clyde Clark, of Birmingham, Alabama; lovely step daughter and family, Sherry Jones, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a fun assortment of family and friends.
