Shannon D. Hetmaniak, age 52, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Sunday, May 31, 2020. He was a country boy at heart. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family in the country. Much like his Mom and Dad, he loved to watch and attend Astros games. His vibrant and larger-than-life personality will be sorely missed as he has moved on to be home with his heavenly Father.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Busa Acuna and Alexander G. Hetmaniak. Shannon is survived by his son Christopher R. Hopkins and daughter Sunshine House; grandsons Caden and Cameron Corbitt; brothers Joseph Hetmaniak, wife Angie, and Patrick Hetmaniak; sisters Rosalie Hetmaniak, husband Dana, Brenda Wiechkoske, husband John, Sandy Gosnell, husband Tim, Kimbra McCall, husband Judson, and Monica Puente, husband Rey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home 1200 W. 34th St. on Sunday, June 7th from 5 - 8 p.m. with a family rosary at 7 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church 3600 Brinkman on Monday, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at 2 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Cemetery 1511 TX-90 in Anderson, Texas. In light of COVID-19, the family asks that those who attend plan on wearing a mask to all services.
Shannon was very passionate about helping those who were less fortunate then himself.
