Lorne Carlton Walkey was born in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan on January 4, 1933 and left us on June 7, 2020 to meet his Maker and to be with his mom and dad (Lois and Lex Walkey). He is survived by Alice, his loving wife for 64 years; their four children: Brad (Debbie), Barbara (Jim), Blair (Karen), and Lorna (Greg), as well as eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Lorne is also survived by two sisters, both of Vernon: Beverly McEachran and Elaine Ware, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who will remember him with love.
Lorne served 20 years with the RCAF retiring at the age of 38 to become ice-maker/manager for the Squamish Curling Club. Too many bosses! So he moved on to be a driver/salesman for Dairyland for some years before retiring (again) to live on a lake in the "Cariboo" in summer and winter in Arizona. His last 18 years were spent in the Okanagan, coming to rest at the Enderby Memorial Towers. Lorne loved fishing, gardening, and making sawdust, but most of all he loved his family. Happy Fishing, Lorne!
