A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Westminster Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Carol Gilbert officiating. Special thoughts, memories and music will be shared by Dr. Ken Lenz, Mr. David Gideon and Mr. Martin Rigsbee. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
Ralph was born April 2, 1953 in Mt. Holly, NJ. In 1975 he graduated from Mars Hill University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He spent several years working as a finance office manager and in Cheerwine sales and distribution. Because of his genuine giving spirit he found working for Guilford County Schools as a part time bus driver the most rewarding.
Gardening was his passion. In the spring, he was thrilled to watch the fruit trees bud, the seeds peek through the ground and the flowers bloom. His green thumb allowed him to not only raise enough vegetables and fruits for his family, he was able to economically provide fresh produce to those in the community, as well. For several years, he was selected as a trial gardener for the National Gardening Association because he used organic methods when gardening.
Ralph enjoyed all sports, especially Duke basketball, Chicago Cubs baseball, Pittsburgh Steelers football, NASCAR and WWE wrestling. In his younger days, he played softball, basketball and football and later used those skills to coach youth sports. His observant quick mind allowed him to solve Sudoku puzzles in ink and he rarely started the day without checking on the latest news and weather. If you asked him what he wanted to eat he would usually say a cheeseburger with fries and a Dr. Pepper or Cheerwine. He loved listening to classic rock, watching television, spending time with friends and family and taking Sunday afternoon drives with no particular destination in mind.
Surviving Ralph is his wife of almost 45 years, Teresa Brendle Hall, one son, Andrew Hall and daughter-in-law, Cameron of Kernersville, NC. He’s also survived by, Dorrance Hall (Darlene) of Southampton, NJ, Judy Dasse of Costa Mesa, CA, Joy Ricker of Wantage, NJ, Jon Hall of Millville, NJ and Dean Hall (Cookie) of Hamilton Square, NJ. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jacob and Daniel Hall, his parents, Joe and Myrelda Hall and a brother, Dan Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to AuthoraCare Collective (formerly Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro & Alamance-Caswell Counties) 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27504, www.authoracare.org.
