On Thursday, August 14th, 1947 Rubbie Jean Allison was born to Wavie Lee Stewart in Huntsville Alabama. As a child, Rubbie had a keen sense of intellect. From a very young age, she had an energetic curiosity for reading that stayed with her throughout her life. In August of 1956 Rubbie’s mother married Clyde Turner. They soon moved to New York City. The family grew to five children. After junior high school Rubbie who was academically inclined and had an interest in fashion enrolled and was accepted into The Fashion Institute Of Technology High School where she attended for two years. In 1963, she met Ronald Myles. In 1964 Rubbie and the family moved to the Bronx. The move was good for Ronald who was a Bronx boy, also Rubbie’s mother would call him whenever Rubbie did something wrong and they would discuss what Rubbie’s punishment would be. Rubbie also changed to Morris High where she acquired her diploma and graduated in 1965. On March 5, 1966 Rubbie and Ronald wed, beginning an unbreakable bond that lasted more than 54 years. Rubbie will be remembered for being a strong grounded force who lived her life on the own terms. Rubbie is preceded in death by her loving parents, Clyde & Wavie Turner, and her grandmother Delia Stewart. With loving memories she leaves behind: Her husband Ronald M. Myles; her sister Brenda V. Turner; Michael T. Turner and his wife Sharon Turner; Brother Dartanian A. Turner his wife Shelly Turner & Brother Darryl R. Turner and his wife Bridget Turner, Four nephews Dee-Mar-Kee Aytche, Dartanian A. Turner Jr., Michael T. Turner Jr., Tyrell S. Turner and niece Anayah W. Turner along with a host of many other relatives and friends. She will be sorely missed!!
