Larry “Scott” Shaffer, 58, of Orlando, Florida died on June 13, 2020. He was blessed and survived by his beautiful wife of 32 years, Michelle Jeannine Shaffer; awesome Son, Sean Christian Shaffer; wonderful siblings Kathy Lea Dowell and Joseph Randall Shaffer and his loving Mother Wilda. Scott was made in Germany and born in Chicopee, Mass. on September 9, 1961 at Westover Air Force Base 99th Bomber Wing to Troy Lee Shaffer and Wilda Gay Shaffer.
As a Military Brat he moved from Mass, to Austin Texas Bergstrom Airforce Base 340 Bomb Wing to California and finally to Orlando Florida, McCoy AFB 306th Bomb Wing where he was raised. Attended Lancaster Elementary, Walker Jr. High and Oakridge High School, Valencia Community College, and University of Central Florida where he earned three associate degrees and bachelors in business administration.
Scott was a Fire Service Veteran who served honorably and retired after 25 years. He served over the years as a Firefighter/EMT, Paramedic, Engineer to Fire Chief.
He was a senior DeMolay of Bahia Chapter; PMC-MSA 79’, Past Deputy State Master Councilor, Chevalier, Cross of Honor, Legion of Honor. Served as Advisory Council Chairman, Ritual Advisory, and Softball Coach. Perpetual member of Pine Castle Masonic Lodge #368. He had many Life-long friends but Louis Govreau, William Wagner, Larry Williamson and Fred Stieffel have always remained close. He is currently serving Jesus, our Lord and Savior, in heaven and watching over his loved ones.
