Tim grew up in St Louis, MO where he graduated from Lindberg High School and attended Washington University. While in school, Tim spent many summers working at Six Flags, where he built friendships and a strong work ethic that he would carry throughout his life. He followed in his father’s footsteps and began a long-lasting career with Southwestern Bell Telephone. His job eventually moved him to Kansas City, KS, San Antonio, TX, then Frisco, TX, where he retired from AT&T in 2012.
Tim was married to the love of his life, Mary Alice (Freivogel) for 45 years. Together they had three sons, Timothy Jr., Matt, and Scott.
He was a loving husband and father, a caring and generous friend, and a doting and adoring “Poppy.” A great listener, who could always make you laugh, and made friends wherever he went. He was a man of routine, with a passion for pretzels and a love for Life (cereal).
Tim is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; his brothers, Robert Bannecker (Myrna) and Richard Bannecker ; his sons, Timothy Bannecker Jr. (Ashley), Matthew Bannecker (Julianne), and Scott Bannecker (Jessica); his grandchildren, Drew, Emerson, Eloise and Grayson; and his dog, Oliver.
He is preceded in death by parents, Robert G. Bannecker and Olive Lee Bannecker.
Tim is loved by many, and his wit, generosity, and kindness will be greatly missed.
