February 3, 1981- June 17,2020
With deepest sorrow, I announce that Thomas John Thorpe Perra (TJ), age 39 our beloved son, family member and friend passed away suddenly at the age of 39 on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Norwich William W. Backus Hospital.
Those who knew TJ, even just a little, will always remember his infectious smile and kindness when his life was stable and with family.
T J will be missed by his Father Thomas John Perra, Mother Deborah Thorpe Rand, Son Maximus Robert Dolzani, Sister Heather P. Batas, his grandmother Barbara Thorpe, Their Husbands and Wives, Children, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many, many great friends.
TJ was born in Hartford and lived most of his life before college in Roslyn, New York. He attended University of Connecticut and completed his studies at University of Hartford with a BS in Management from the Barney School of Business. He passed the State of New York’s brokerage exam and pursued a short career in investments.
It should be noted, while employed with Verizon Wireless, TJ received the covenant award for his outstanding customer service. He held various managerial and supervisor positions in retail sales and his current position was with Bonnie Plants, Preston. In all these positions, TJ always wanted to outperform the goals set by Management.
T J loved children. It was once said by a summer camper; “if he does not return as a counsellor” I don’t want to attend. He loved sports, fishing, boating, video games, beach and outdoor activities. TJ idolized NBA Basketball player Vinnie Baker. Vin’s # 42 was on everything TJ numbered.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Pines in the memory of Thomas John Thorpe Perra (TJ) donations should be made out to SCADD 37 Camp Mooween Rd., Lebanon CT 06249.
