Mr. Leon Vestal passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday June 21st, 2020 at Hospice facility in Tyler, TX. Leon was born on January 31st, 1937 in Bray, Oklahoma, and was a lifelong resident of Kilgore.
Leon spent most of his life working in the oil field as a trucker driver. He was very well known in the oil field for his hard work and his Blue Kenworth truck that had more chrome on it than anyone could imagine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his children, spoiling his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved working on his truck and making sure the chrome was all polished up, going to Las Vegas, and making people laugh.
Mr.. Vestal is survived by his daughter Kathy Donovan of Gladewater, Son Loydell Vestal and wife Sue of Grand Junction, Colorado, granddaughter Tasha Justice of Gladewater, grandson Loydell Vestal II and wife Mindi of Anchorage Alaska, granddaughter Kateessa McClain and husband Ryan of Ozark Arkansas, great grandson Brian Hathorn of Gladewater, great grandson Kanyon McClain of Ozark Arkansas, and his sister Naoma Turpin of Wichita Falls, Texas, along with numerous other family members.
Mr. Vestal was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Emma Vestal, grandson Kolby Donovan, and five brothers and three sisters.
A time of visitation with his family will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A celebration of his life will occur Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM.
