Mr. Kwasi Anane Botah was born on July 29, 1942 to the late Mr. Kwaku Anane Yeboah and Madame Ama Serwaah in Kumasi, Ghana. He was the youngest of five siblings. Mr. Botah attended primary school in Kumasi and went on to attend Opoku Ware Secondary School. He later attended Wesley College at Kumasi for his post-secondary education to become a teacher. He taught two years at Agona Ashanti and went to Cape Coast University for his Bachelor’s Degree in Education specializing in Chemistry and Physics. After obtaining his degree, Mr. Botah then taught at Dwamena Akenten Secondary School and Offinso Teacher’s Training College at Offinso Ashanti.
In 1970, Mr. Botah met the love of his life, Diana Annoh Frimpong, and they were later married in 1971.
In 1973, Mr. Botah immigrated to Washington, DC, in the U.S.A. Mrs. Botah eventually joined him in 1974. In 1975, Mr. and Mrs. Botah relocated to Atlanta, Ga where Mr. Botah began attending Mercer University and obtained a second bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He then gained employment at Sorbus Inc. as a field engineer. In 1990, Sorbus Inc. relocated to California. Mr. Botah later became employed with Southern Linc a subsidiary of Georgia Power. He remained at Southern Linc until his retirement in 2007.
Mr. Botah is survived by his wife, Diana, of 48 years, their two sons, Michael and Brandon Botah, and two daughters, Ophelia Botah-Oduro (Maame Serwaah) and Angela “Angie” Botah Diggs, two son in- law’s, Joseph Oduro (Pappy) and Kuluku Diggs, a daughter in law, Selina Akoto Botah, 10 grandchildren, Briana, Johnathan, Diana, Elizabeth and London Botah; Jaylon, Jarrett, Jackson, and Jaylani Oduro, and Qwest Diggs, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends who all loved him very dearly. Mr. Botah was also a proud and contributing member of the Asanteman Association of Georgia and was the Abusuapanyin (Chief- Elder) of the Association. Mr. Botah was laid back with a gentle, caring, and humble soul and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
