Mrs. Pate lived in Springfield the last 3 years. Prior to moving to Springfield she lived in Conyers and Stone Mountain. She worked over 30 years at Emory University Hospital as a Unit Clerk in Atlanta. She was passionate about her flowers and plants and could grow a whole tree from a leaf. She loved and spoiled her cats. She was an avid collector of seashells and lighthouses. She loved walking sandy beaches and sitting outside with a cup of coffee. Mrs. Pate was able to take a few cruises and visit the Caribbean. Mrs. Pate was a member of the Senior Citizen Center of Effingham County where she grew to have a great friendship with the fellow members. She also was part of the XYZ Club in Conyers for a few years prior to moving to Springfield.
Mrs. Pate is preceded in death by her parents; Robert Fuller and Pauline Fuller; and son, Ronald Murphy.
Mrs. Pate is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Rick) Glidden of Springfield; sons, Donald Murphy of Monroe and David Eric Pate of Grayson; brothers, Tommy (Judy) Fuller of Cleveland, Tony (Diane) Fuller of Statham, Elizabeth Alley of Covington and Robert Neal (Barbara) Fuller Sr. of Snellville; the grandchildren that held a special place in Mrs. Nancy's heart are Victoria Glidden of Springfield and Uyla Glidden of Savannah; along with D.J Murphy, Shannon Murphy, Justin Spence and Jason Spence and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Nancy Fuller Pate will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Carter Hill Christian Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Mrs. Pate to the Epilepsy Foundation.
