James “Jim” William Harland Sr., 58, of Buffalo IA. Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24th 2020 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 30th 2020 from 10-12pm at The Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will follow in The Runge Chapel. Cremation rites have been recorded. Jim was born on May 17th, 1962 in Iowa City, IA. to Harold and Betty (Carder) Harland. Later on he met the love of his life Tammy Dells. They wed on September 14th 1993 and spent 26 years in marital bliss.
Besides his family, Jim’s biggest passion in life was cars. He loved racing his #95 Grape Ape car. He was 1997 Track Champion at the Blue Grass Hawkeye Raceway. Jim spent most of his free time working on cars with his buddies Al and Jimmie. When Jim wasn’t racing he was working on or building cars with his son Allen Sisco. Jim also loved hunting and fishing with his buddy Steve. Jim and his son, James William Harland Jr., were often found watching sports together and arguing about them. He was a proud Union worker for 30 years with Local 309. Jim was a proud member of the Quad Cities Mopar Club.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife; sons, CJ Sisco, Allen Sisco and James William Harland Jr.; brothers, Jimmie Joe Buck, Buck Harland, Michael Harland, Rick Harland; sister, Pat Lamar; granddaughter, Kennedy Sisco and one grandbaby on the way; a brother inlaw, Raymond (Mary) Dells Sr.; his best friends, Lance Elfgen, Steve “Lightening” Bolt, Jimmie (#69 Roadrunner), Al Longmeier, numerous nieces and nephews and all of his car buddies.
Those who greeted him in heaven are; his parents; sister, Connie Lamar, Sandy Collier, Phyllis Harland and his niece Buffy Moss.
