If you are reading this, I have gone to join my King and Savior in my Heavenly home. Please do not grieve my passing, but rejoice that I am at last with those I love and have missed for such a long time. I have joined my beloved husband Walter Kasper, my wonderful parents, Fred and Dorothy Hoops, my dear brother David Hoops, along with my grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many cherished friends. What a joyous reunion!
I leave behind, just for awhile, the best son a mother could ever have, Jim Kasper, his wife Lexy, who is mother to my prejious grandchildren: Juliana, Alec, Bradley, and Nathan, all of whom have been the light and joy of my life.
I was born on November 13, 1944 in Greeley Colorado. God blessed me with a close-knit family and a wonderful childhood, roaming freely around my grandparents' farm, excelling at school, and attending the white clapboard church built (in part) by my Great-Grandfather Alvin Larson. Later, my family was planted in Amarillo Texas, where I achieved my life goal of becoming a registered nurse and beginning a career that allowed me to care for children as a pediatric and neonatal nurse, a school nurse, and finally as a nurse administrator in San Antonio School District.
After many years, I retired to Georgetown Texas to Sun City, where God blessed me with the best friends I could ever have imagined having. Retirement offered me opportunity pursue my love of writing, and I was able to publish memories of my life.
Looking in the rear-view mirror of my life, I was able to see how God had led me where I needed to go and planted me where I needed to be. At last I found my church family at Faith Lutheran Church, a caring Christian community that welcomed me and allowed me to serve the Lord as a Stephen Minister and come to know that Christ's Church is a dynamic living church, reaching out to all in need of love and redemption.
God opened His arms and brought me home on June 22, 2020.
A celebration of my life and God's redemptive power will be held at Faith Lutheran Church at a later date. I will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date as well.
Instead of sending flowers, please honor my life by committing yourself to promoting the Kingdom of God in your own special way.
