Jan was born on April 4, 1936 to the late Rouville Joseph Lemaire and Delia Jaques. She was a Regis graduate, receiving a bachelor’s degree in business accounting and business management. She worked at Kodak until 1988, where she met the love of her life, Bruce Kirk. Bruce and her took the leap and opened up their own business, Active Arms Gun Shop in 1986 where she continued to work until her passing. She loved to be around people and the customers at the shop.
Jan was a serious tennis fan, she would know about upcoming matches and was knowledgeable on all the athlete’s statistics. She also spent her free time in the outdoors, many times her and Bruce would have the car packed and ready to go on their ventures camping and fishing right after clocking out on a Saturday. She was also fond of B Grade Monster Movies, Perry Mason, and Columbo-Matlock.
Jan is survived by her husband, Bruce W. Kirk; two children from a previous marriage, Kelly and Scott; three grandchildren, Hayden, Noah, and Julie; and two brothers, Roger and Lee.
Jan’s outlook on life was admirable, she always saw the good in people. She will be greatly missed by all.
