He was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland to Frank and Bridget (Antle) Madore.
Dad (or Alf to his Newfoundland family) was the most amazing husband, father, grand-father, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a kind soul and always had time for everyone. He loved watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and rarely missed a game.
After a long successful career in sales he couldn’t quite hang up his hat so he guided Graham in his new business venture. After that he still kept busy with volunteering for numerous shelters in the city.
He was an avid walker and could be seen around Dartmouth walking for hours each day until he was no longer able to. He then dedicated everyday to visiting mom at Oceanview manor. Making her a lobster sandwich and bringing one of her favorites like diet Pepsi or chocolate!
Dad moved to Nova Scotia in his twenties but his true home was in Newfoundland…especially at Blow Me Down with all of his brothers and sisters and their families.
He is survived by wife, Helen Elizabeth “Betty” Graham; daughter Dawn (Kevin); son Graham (Kathy); granddaughters, Kathleen (Blair), Taylor, and Chancey; great grandsons Kayo and Van, all of Dartmouth. Brothers Walt, of Newfoundland, Jerome, of Alberta; sisters, Estelle, Ann, Margaret Rose, Mary, Cecilia and Irene, all of Newfoundland and Bernadette, of Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, brother George and sister Olive (in birth).
Cremation has taken place and family will be having a private service.
Memorial donations can be made to Dartmouth General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
