Nick was born on December 6, 1948 in Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan Becerra and Tomasa Hernandez. In 1969, he married the love of his life Araceli Becerra and they raised four wonderful children together. They relocated to OKC in the early 1970’s where Nick began a successful career with Waste Management. Nick retired as a General Manager with the company, after 40 years of service.
Nick’s faith and relationship with Christ was the cornerstone of his life. In 1994, he was called into the ministry as the Youth Pastor at Templo Calvario in OKC. Four years later he started Centro Misionero Emmanuel, where he served as Senior Pastor. Then from 2000-2018 he pastored Rosa De Saron, in OKC. Health issues forced his retirement in 2018. He was a caring and fun loving man who loved to make others smile. His heart for youth led him to take in numerous young people who he and Araceli mentored and raised. He offered many of them the unconditional love their lives were missing and did his best to help them better their lives.
When he wasn’t working, Nick enjoyed being outdoors. He was a nature lover who enjoyed fishing, eagle watching, and spending time with his wife and children. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family. Nick was a loving husband, a protective father, a caring grandfather, a dedicated servant of Jesus Christ, and a loyal friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Nick was preceded in life by his parents: Juan Becerra and Tomasa Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Araceli Becerra; a brother Armando Becerra; a sister Gloria Villa; four children: Nick Becerra and wife Tracy, Noemi Martinez and husband Humberto, Luis Becerra, and Vanessa Lopez and husband Juan. He is also survived by 11 grandkids, 2 great grandkids, as well as numerous other beloved family and friends.
