Etta Williams is survived by her daughter Shauna and granddaughter Cheyanne. She's also
survived by her siblings Minette, Blossom, Verley, Gwendolyn, Teddy and George.. Mrs.
Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 45 yrs (at his time of death) Mr.Lascelles
Williams.
Etta was born on February 5, 1936 to parents Lillian and Leslie Cox. She studied in England
and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She moved to New York and accepted a position
as a Registered Nurse/ at times Charge Nurse on the unit. She worked at then Beekman
Downtown Hospital for more than 30 years.
Etta Williams was a vibrant, loving, understanding and giving person. She was an exceptional
mother and grandmother.
Etta married Lascelles Noel Williams in 1969 and the couple had one child together, Shauna
and she was a very loving stepmother to Pauline, Crafton and Larry Williams.
Etta had unwavering faith in God. Was Methodist but later attended Presbyterian church with
her husband and family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a woman of class,
kind, soft spoken but assertive when she needed to be. A true beauty inside and out. She will be
truly missed!
A funeral is scheduled for August 8, 2020 at 11:00 am. It will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Etta Williams life well lived. They family would like to
thank her loving family and friends, all who helped as caregivers for her in the latter years, those
who took part in preparation and also in attending the celebration of her life.
