Edna Thompson Schultz was born on May 19, 1933 in Stuarts Draft, Virginia and passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 in Palm Bay, Florida. She is survived by her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Susan, grandchildren, Jackson and Morgan, as well as by two sisters, Sarah Taylor and Dorothy Koogler, and a brother, Wallace Thompson. In 1952, she graduated from Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, VA where she was a classmate of actress Shirley MacLaine. After high school, Edna enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served three years before being honorably discharged. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Paul Schultz and remained happily married to him until his death in 1995. She worked for nearly 20 years for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company (later becoming AT&T) and another 20 years for General Electric and McQuay International. Upon retirement in 1998, she moved to Melbourne, FL. Edna’s greatest quality was her unfailing optimism. It was a trait she held until her last day. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the American Cancer Society be made in her memory.
