Aurelio Gonzalez Jr. passed away peacefully July 26, 2020 at his home in Waxahachie, Texas at the age of 78. Leo was born on November 12, 1941 in Addis, Louisiana to Aurelio Gonzalez Sr. and Maria Rodriguez Gonzalez.
As a young boy Leo attended the Eagle Ford School in Dallas, Texas on Chalk Hill Road. He also attended high school at Crozier Technical High School. Leo left school early in order to help his family earn money as a migrant worker. However, this did not stop his desire to learn.
In his young adult years, he worked at different jobs that would develop the skills to begin his own business. Roofing, welding, hauling gravel in his father’s truck, as well as assisting his father in remodeling old houses to sell or rent gave him the experience to become successful. Leo landed a job at Payne & Howard that would solidify all his self-learned skills that provided the basis for his lifelong business.
He began Leo’s Door & Repair in the back yard of his home, and grew it into a larger business and enlisted his brothers to help. This business later grew, moved locations, and is now known as National
Door & Repair Inc.
Although Leo had a great skill set, a great business sense and was extremely self-motivated, his greatest qualities of all were not in an office building but in his heart. Leo was a kind and generous person. He was a great brother, husband, uncle and father. He was always there when you needed help or just someone to lean on. His kindness, compassion, and love for our Lord Jesus will be remembered forever.
His greatest legacy was his spreading the word of God to others.
Leo was preceded on death by his parents Aurelio Gonzalez Sr. & Maria Rodriguez Gonzalez, his brothers Conrado, Robert, and Joe. Sisters, Mary Ann Parades, and Rosa Wyatt and grandson Carlos Raul Gonzalez.
He is survived by his brothers and their spouses, Johnny Sr. and Adriana, Santiago and Mary, Rudy and Jessie Gonzalez, sister Dora and Joe Montez, and his sister in-laws Emma and Henry Pereyda, Francis Ramirez, and brother in-law Selso and Teresa Alvarado.
