Mr. Jamie Douglas Houlditch, age 83, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away at local hospital on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 7:00pm at Christchurch Anglican located at 8800 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL, 36117 with Leak Memory Funeral Home directing. Due to Safer at Home orders, the service is limited to family only. The family will responsibly receive friends between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 663 Pimblico Rd, Montgomery, AL 36109 or phone calls to (334) 593-1836. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Shine Your Light Ministry at Christchurch Anglican.
Jamie attended the University of Montevallo, he served his country in the US Army for 6 years, and he worked in the paper industry across the United States for 34 years. Jamie was active in the communities in which the family lived, Butler and Livingston, Alabama. Jamie loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Ruth Houlditch of Montevallo, AL; his brother, Grady Houlditch, Jr. of Conyers, GA; and his grandson, Aubry Houlditch of Montgomery, AL. Jamie is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Dottie Houlditch; his brother Charlie Houlditch (Frances); his children, Michael Houlditch (Liz), Carla Hollis (Jarrett), and Kevin Houlditch (Dondra); his grandchildren, Chris Hollis (Jessica), Michael Houlditch, Courtney Howard (Ian), Jeremy Hollis, Joshua Hollis, and Brewer Houlditch; his great-grandchild, Finlee Howard, and a multitude of nephews and nieces.
