Carlos was born in Yuma, Arizona on March 29, 1936 to George and Amelia Pina. Carlos “Charlie” , started working at a young age to help his parents and siblings. He attended Yuma High School but left to join the Army at 17 years old. After three years in the service, he lived in Los Angeles before moving to San Jose.
Carlos met and later was married to Adela on December 31, 1965; they were married 39 years.
Carlos worked as a custodian for San Jose State University for 28 years. He enjoyed working around his home and teaching his sons how to repair their vehicles. He also enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren. Charlie would always be seen waiting for his grandsons at the bus stop or giving them rides to an appointment. Charlie enjoyed listening to music and telling stories of his childhood in his later years. He would later have medical problems but that didn’t change his goal of enjoying each day. As long as he could listen to “Little Joe and La Familia” songs he was happy. We would like to thank our friend/caregiver Christine Boueche for all the love and care she gave our father.
Carlos is survived by his children; Jacqueline (Sam), Charles (Monica), Diane, Douglas, Thomas, Andrew (Angie), Benjamin. Grandchildren Vivian, Danny, Andrew, McKinley, Mia, Aaron, Adam and great grandchildren Nickolas and Dominic.
Carlos is preceded in death by his wife Adela.Pina.
