On this beautiful, sunny Wednesday our heavenly Father called home one of His dearest children. For those she leaves behind, we will remember her laughter, love, and courage that she shared so readily and regularly with those she loved as she kept them close to her heart. Many times she would let you know that you were in her prayers as faith to her was a powerful force.
She has accomplished much in her life, including fulfilling an education from Appalachian State University. Through this, she was able to capture the hearts and minds of many elementary school aged children through a career that lasted more than 30 years. She was cherished by countless loving, dedicated, and joyously quirky lifelong friends, including those from her church, the choir, the Lexington County Master Gardener Volunteers, and her sorority, Kappa Kappa Iota. She treasured them all.
She was passionate about her faith, her garden, her cooking, and everyone she loved. She was always willing to share a recipe and loved to talk about anything gardening and decorating. Her legacy is her spirit, her faith, and her unmatched vitality for life. She was an “Angell” on earth and a true blessing to her family and all who knew her.
For now, she waits for her husband, Bob, of 50 years as well as her daughters, Libby, Terri (Mike) and Vicki (Rick). She is also survived by a sister she adored with all her heart, Judy Yarborough and her family. Known as “Nanny” and “G’Daddy”, she and Bob have three grandchildren: Katie Corbett Wentzel, Jason Culley and Lindsey Culley. As G’Nanny and G’Daddy, they also share two great grandchildren, Maddie Wentzel and Vann Culley.
