Age 96, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, grew up during the depression, and lived her adult life in St. Louis, Missouri.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Leonora Wetterman, her stepmother Elsa, and her brother Charles. She lost her mother Leonora when she was only 6 years old. Her immediate family includes her late first husband Emil Kuechler; son Tom, daughter-in-law Annetta, grandson Erich and granddaughter Shauna; daughter Karen Revere, son-in-law Steve, granddaughter Stephanie and great-grandson Sakari. Her second family includes her late second husband Frank Ostapowicz, his 8 children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for being kind, thoughtful and giving, with a ready smile. She was always looking for ways to help others. She loved reading, playing games, doing puzzles and visiting with friends and family. She was a long-time office manager of a dental office in Brentwood and a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed traveling and spent several years as a snowbird with Frank in Destin, Florida after retiring.
The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care provided by Mason Pointe Lutheran Senior Services, where Betty lived for the last 3 years.
Betty will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She lived a wonderful long life and is now at peace.
