Robert Edwin Tier was born January 5, 1967 in Titusville, Florida to Michael and Beverly Tier. He was called home to be with his Father on August 21, 2020 in Daytona Beach, Florida. On the evening of August 21, 2020 at approx 7:45 p.m., Rob suffered from a massive and fatal heart attack while celebrating at a birthday party surrounded by friends who loved him dearly. Just before his passing, he was seen smiling, laughing, and chatting on the couch waiting for a big piece of birthday cake! At the time of his passing Rob resided on his house boat “Lifeline”, which he was so proud of, at Coquina Marina in Daytona Beach, FL.
Rob loved his country. He was truly “Proud to be an American!” He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1990-1992. He is a combat Veteran of Desert Storm where he held the job of Engineer and Rifle Expert. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.
Robert was a family man who adored his children. He did whatever he had to do to provide a home and good life for them and he made sure they never went without, even when he fell on hard times. He always tried to be their best friend, while still being stern and strict when needed. He instilled good morals and values into his children such as love, kindness, loyalty, and trust. Rob also loved his animals, Hershey, Sgt Kodak, oh so many to name, but his latest love was his service dog Llyod. Rob was a genuine and true friend, he never met a stranger, and whenever anyone asked him for something, he never said no. Rob was a goofball and loved to make people laugh. He made the Best Santa Clause Ever and his smile could go on for miles. One of his favorite sayings was “Live, Laugh, Love.”
Rob always had a passion for helping others and he went back to school later in life to obtain an education that would allow him to use his skills to do just that. Rob graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Kaplan University with a GPA of 3.98 at the age of 49. He later re-enrolled at Kaplan University in pursuit of his Masters degree. He held several job roles over the years, most recently he was a Driver, a Counselor, and a Radio-Show Host.
In addition to that, Rob was also an Ordained Minister. He loved to minister to anyone who would listen. He has been a part of 3 non-for-profit ministries to include Family Life Matters Lifeline, Broken Arrow PTSD Dive Foundation, and his latest venture was Lifeline-Addiction-Resources.
Rob is survived by his son Caleb N. Tier (20), Faith Tier (15), parents Michael and Beverly Tier. Sister Joanie Tier, Brother John Paul Tier, his grandpup Angel, his service dog Lloyd, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and a multitude of friends who loved him as family.
