Elizabeth Louise Nanson (Redpath) was born on February 4, 1923 in Van Zandt County, Texas to Hobart Flint and Jewell (Williams) Flint. She was taken to Heaven on August 29, 2020 in Coppell Texas. She was a long time resident of Irving, Texas and a long time member of MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church.
Elizabeth married Gerald Scott and had four children; Wayne Douglas, Jerry Eugene, Judy Alice and Janet Faye. After a short stay in Virginia for work, the family moved back to Texas without hesitation. Elizabeth was a full time mother and housewife in Irving. Gerald passed away from heart issues in 1959.
A couple of years later, Elizabeth married Douglas Redpath. They shortly afterwards accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church in 1961. With Douglas accepting Judy and Janet as his own daughters, he and Elizabeth were able to raise them in the ways of the Lord. Elizabeth taught her girls to love, honor and serve God. She even went to church camps with them as a counselor or as a cook. Liz never met a stranger, even when she would sit with visitors at church. She would invite guest to join her and her family for lunch. Surprisingly, most visitors accepted her hospitality! She loved to go to breakfast and Bible Studies with the ladies of Gracepoint Church for the last seven years.
Both Elizabeth and Douglas loved to dance but could not find many places to dance and to be able to serve God. Instead, they would invite couples to their home on Sundays after church, providing dinner and playing a game or two of “42” Dominoes. Elizabeth was so good at “42” she won a couple of tournaments. Liz and her good friend of 8 years, Jackie would play dominoes and go out for meals on Friday.
Her love of cooking and guest meant loads of food including her Banana Pudding or her Coconut Pie. Liz loved fishing, which usually came together with her love of cooking. When she would catch her own fish, she would clean and filet.
Elizabeth loved her family immensely. She looked forward to her calls to and from her brother Robert and sister Margie. She was always ready to gather with her siblings and children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her sons Wayne and Jerry; and Grandson, Jeffrey Scott.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters: Judy Redpath/Rogers(Bob Rogers) and Janet Redpath/McSherry (Wayne McSherry); Brother, Robert Flint; Sister, Margie; Grandchildren: Kevin Barnes (Shauna), Julianne Whitley (Sam), Krystal Morse (Jonathan), Christine Boone (Matt), and Nicki Rogozinski(Adrian Eaton); Great Grandchildren: Kensley Lane, Kelsey Lane, Levi Whitley, King Eaton, Harmony Eaton, Freya Boone, Landry Whitley, Ayden Eaton, and Leighton Morse.
