Lewis (JayR) Renard Scott, Jr., 41, earned his heavenly wings on August 30, 2020 at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL. Lewis was born to Lewis and Annie Scott (Thomas), Sr. on March 5, 1979 in East St. Louis, IL. He met the love of his life, Raffy Scott, on his 21st birthday in Cahokia, IL and they married on August 23, 2008 where their deep love for each other continues forever and always.
Lewis attended schools in East St. Louis and Collinsville, IL where he was a top honor student, participated in Upward Bound, played football and a variety of other activities. He graduated from Collinsville High School, Sanford Brown College for Computer Support and Florida College of Natural Health for Massage Therapy. He held numerous jobs beginning when he was just 15 years old at Shoney’s in Collinsville, IL through his position as a Kitchen Manager with TGI Friday’s in Orange Park, FL where he enjoyed his work and the people he worked with, even more for eight years. He truly put his heart into being the best Manager he could be.
Lewis was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. His infectious smile, his huge heart, his devotion to his close-knit family and friends and his outlook on life was truly motivating and made him highly revered by all. He truly cared for humankind and was the least judgmental Man anyone could ever meet. He was always the life of the party and his sense of humor was captivating. He lit up a room and wanted everyone to live their best life.
Lewis was always a spiritual soul and was passionate about Christ. He believed in forgiveness and salvation and is now walking the streets of gold with his Savior, Son and family.
He is survived by his Wife, Raffy Scott, Daughter, Karribian Scott, Son, Anderson Scott, Grandson, Aquarius Lowman (all of Jacksonville, FL), Mother, Annie Thomas, Father, Lewis Scott, Sr., Step-Father, Jerry Thomas, Sr., Brothers, Jerry Thomas, Jr. and Corey Thomas, Sister, Lakeydra Scott, Step-Sister, Tracy Ratcliff, Bonus Daughter, Richante Hickman (all of East St. Louis, IL), Mother-in-law, Pamela Duvall (Dan), Father-in-law, Gary Anderson (Sherry), Sister-in-laws, Afton Anderson and Ashley Anderson (all of Leitchfield, KY), three nieces, six nephews, as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, and 5 generations of cousins.
He is preceded in death by his first-born Son, Lewis Scott, III, his Grandmothers, Georgia M. Wren and Emily Scott, and first-cousins Timothy Cortez Wilson and Emily (Dimp) Scott, as well as other beloved family members.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Hardage Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park 32073, on September 19, 2020 from 3-5 pm.
