Dorothy was an entrepreneur throughout her lifetime. She lived in Quincy, Il. after getting married in 1947. The family moved to Springfield in 1967. She has been living at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield the last four years.
Dorothy was the "rock" in her family over the years. She really loved cooking for the holidays and family gatherings. She also enjoyed her grandchildren visit, and loved having them stay overnight on weekends. She was very caring and thoughtful. She enjoyed helping other residents at her Assisted Living facility and Nursing Home in her final years. She had a long and happy life, reminding her children the past few years that she "was ready to go any time". We were blessed to have her pass peacefully in her sleep.
The family would like to thank Lewis Memorial Christian Village for all the help and support over the past four years, with a special thanks to her Nurse, Christine, and Aid, Amanda.
