On Thursday, August 27, 2020, Cecile Jeanette Pierce, lifted in prayer passed away peacefully in Spring, Texas at the age of 81. Cecile was born on July 20, 1939 in Alice, Texas to Andrew Jackson Favor and
Georgia Cecile (Langston) Favor. Cecile is survived by her children: Joe Jr. (Carolyn), and children Amanda (Andrew) and Alyssa; Roger (Vicki), his children Jarrod (Hannah) and Summer, and her child, Kenny (Brittani); Jeff (Gayla), his children, Vilma (Geo), Sarah (Jared), Andrew (Kayla), and Christopher, and her children, Jessica (Chris), Sean, Corey (Susan); Dara (Steve), children Andrea and Emily. She is also survived by her 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Andrea Zdansky and Linda (Polly) Powers; and other extended family. Cecile was born in Alice, Texas and raised in several south Texas towns. She graduated from Sinton High School in 1957. While in high school, she played tennis, basketball, and the french horn. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with friends. After high school, she chose to be a participant in the Miss Sinton Chamber of Commerce beauty pageant and found a job selling magazines. She met a man named Joe Gray Pierce, who was in the Navy and stationed in Beeville, Texas. It was love at first sight and shortly after they met he proposed and they were married on August 2, 1958 in Pearsall. After his time in the Navy, they moved to Houston, Texas where they lived happily for many years. Cecile had a few different administrative jobs, but her priority was raising her children.
