Our dear mother lived her life to the fullest as she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren.
She enjoyed her time in her kitchen baking her goods and sharing her recipes, also she enjoyed the outdoors with a fish fry to end the day, she always looked forward to her blueberry picking days with her friends.
Our mother had the honour of raising her special great granddaughter Kyra Jolie as her own child, our mother was quite a character, she enjoyed joking around, loved putting puzzles together, and sharing her stories… for those we will surely miss!
She took a great pride in her completing her post-secondary education and gained two college diplomas, Community Health through Cambrian College and Social Services through St. Lawrence College.

Her partner George Boyd and her siblings Ron P. & Sally McDonald, James & Gay McDonald, Charles & Mary Jane McDonald, Dan & Sharon McDonald, Gail McDonald, Rosie McDonald and Nancy McDonald, her children: Barney & Ann McDonald, Harvey & Linda Hunter, Wendy & John Paul Jamieson, Gretchen & Rocky Bunting, Michael & Jennifer Hunter, Harriet, Myra, George, Matthew and Isaac Muckle, her grandchildren: Dylana, Dorissa, Dylan, Deana, Shawna, Jade, Chloe, Storm, Kyle, Rochele, Rocki, Celeste, Brennan, Dallas & Alyssa, her great grandchildren: Zinnia, Kemper, Ryland, Kobi, Justice, Jerome, Kali, Chevyonne, Reiden, Hayden, Maddi, Jorge, Kyra Jo, Taylee, Liam, Emmy, Dylan, Blake, Leondre, Gwen, Kalo, Jrew and Renley and her great-great grandson Kai Lavand, Doris has many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives too numerous to mention.
Predeceased by Doris who will be greeted by her family that left before her with open arms will be her parents: Harriet McDonald & William Land, her sisters Josephine, Victoria McDonald & her step-father Robert McDonald, son Russell Hunter and granddaughters Felicia Hunter and Sarah Bunting, as well as baby Bunting.
The family would like to thank all of the staff of the 2nd floor at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for caring and tending to all of our mother’s needs.
Funeral Services will take place at the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday September 8, 2020 at 11:00 am. With Pastor Kowal Officiating the services’ with cremation will follow.
Due to Covid, if you would like to come to the service and pay your respects a mask must be worn at all times, masks will be provided by the funeral home. Those who do not live in the same household need to be six feet apart and there is a limit of 50 family and friends that can attend this service.
