Marvin was the son to Joseph and Theresa Sieffert (Bauer), born on December 30, 1937 in Hannah, MI. He grew up as the thirteenth of fourteen children and graduated from Kingsley High School where he lettered in basketball and baseball. In 1960, he married his sweetheart, Karen Hautala who stayed by his side for 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and 4 sisters which he loved dearly, Albert, Kenneth, Clifford, Harold, Ronald, Elmer, Everett, Larry, Doris Dougherty, Hilda Lyon, Elaine and Erma. He is survived by one sister, Carol Noteware. He is also survived by his wife, Karen and his 5 children that were proud to call him Dad. Daughter Tammy (Sam) Caron, Son Randy, Son Douglas (Caryn), Daughter Debra (David) Allen, and Daughter Amy (Jeff) Belanger. He also cherished his 8 grandchildren, Sierra, Brianna, Erika, Daniel, Dyana, Reuben, Amos and Joe, and two Greatgrandchildren, Tessa and Maddy who will greatly miss their Papa.
Marvin was a devoted father, master carpenter, avid hunter, fisherman, athlete and all-around outdoorsman. Although his heart condition slowed him down some, he still enjoyed watching sports, especially in person and made many trips to the Big House in Ann Arbor, Joe Louis Arena, Comerica, and his favorite, Tiger Stadium. You would always see him proudly wearing one of his favorite teams displayed on his hat or a coat. He also enjoyed birdwatching and watching nature shows on TV. He loved animals even as a child being involved in 4H.
He loved to travel with family as often as he could. To the UP with Grandma Hautala, Mt. Rushmore with Joel & Carol, Dutch Amish country in Pa., Disney, Arizona with Karen and Tammy, and many more including building his brother a house in Texas with uncle Everett.
Marvin will be remembered by his family and everyone who knew him as a strong faithful man with a great smile and a huge heart. He had many health conditions spanning many years and nobody ever heard him complain. He was always concerned about the happiness and health of his beautiful bride and the whereabouts of his 5 wonderful children who will miss him dearly every day.
