Joan Grisaffi Fleetwood, age 81, entered eternal peace on Friday, September 4th 2020. Dearest Joan was born May 14, 1939 and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish. Following graduation from John McDonogh High School, she wed Edward “Red” Fleetwood and settled in Arabi, Louisiana to raise their three children. A longtime employee of New Orleans Country Club’s accounting department, Joan was a devout Catholic. She had been an active parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine and more recently Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette, LA. A pilgrimage to Our Lady of Medjurgorje in the former Yugoslavia continued to hold incredible significance in her devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Fleetwood; father, Salvador Grisaffi; mother, Myrtle Halsall Grisaffi and brother, Raymond Grisaffi. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to many, Joan leaves behind children Edward (and April) Fleetwood Jr.; Dionne (and Matt) Immel and Bryan (and Cheryl) Fleetwood, Sr.; grandchildren Lauren (and Michael) Cullen, Bryan (and Mandy) Fleetwood, Jr., Jonathan (and MacGregor) Immel, Corey (and Jacqueline) Fleetwood, Brittney (and Corey) Chilton and Rhett Fleetwood; great-grandchildren Shae, Tripp, Addy, Hazel and Olive Cullen, Emerson and Elle Fleetwood, Talan and Beckham Chilton and Hayes Immel. In lieu of flowers, please consider having a mass said in Joan’s name at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church or your local catholic parish.
