Pamela Ruth Moncrief, Mom, Nana to ALL, and Matriarch of her family, was born on November, 11th 1951 and passed away in the presence of her immediate family Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at age 68 at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. She has lived in Texas since she was a little girl and resided in Houston since 1987.
Pam was born November 11, 1951 in San Diego, California to Kenny and Joan Wagner (Derrick). She attended High school in Tyler, Texas and graduated in 1969 from John Tyler High School. She was an officer with the Blue Brigades and was a Twirl Major.
Everyone knew her as Nana. She was a single mom of 3 girls for most of her life and loved to help people. She spent time on staff at Church on the Rock in Rockwall, TX organizing ladies’ ministries events and then moved to Houston in the 80’s and started working in daycare where she fell in love with childcare. She has touched many lives and her legacy continues today. She never met a stranger. Even in the last several years and all the health struggles, she was still able to lean on Jesus and her faith. Nana had an amazing way to put others first above herself.
Pam is survived by her mother, Joan Derrick who is currently residing in Houston, TX and is 93. She is also survived by her Daughters Amy Lynn Sisson and spouse Greg of Houston, TX, Maggie Lee Huff and spouse Joseph of Montgomery, TX, Kristi Rae Sanchez and spouse Jimmy of Houston, TX and Raegan Patrice Moncrief of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. She has countless honorary kids and grand kids that are too many to count! Her love ran deep!
Nana’s favorite scripture: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
