There was no greater love story than that between Flo and Eddie. More often than not, their love and loyalty to each other was often showcased on the dance floor where they swayed in unison to every song whether it was Kenny Rogers crooning their wedding ballad, “Through the Years” or Mark Anthony singing his latest and greatest hit and their deep connection was something that filled a room and could be felt by everyone in their presence. When asked about his wife, Eddie said, she was my best friend, companion, supporter and the BEST mother to my children.
Flo was not only a mother to her five amazing biological children, but bonus Mom to scores of others. Children from the neighborhood would fill her home and they, in turn, would be filled by food, love, and good advice. Unconditional love, strength, and resilience were just a few of the gifts bestowed upon her children growing up and they credit her with being the guiding light that have led them to be the successful and compassionate adults they are today.
Not one to mince words, many friends and family looked to Flo for advice and they knew, coming through her door meant that they would get one thing - The TRUTH. They may not have liked what they heard at the time but, like most, they knew that she was most often, if not always, right.
Flo wore many hats - loyal wife and companion, fierce and protective mother and confidante, honest and caring friend and relative. She never failed to show up in the biggest way for everyone who loved her. She was a force to be reckoned with and fought like hell to the end. Although she will be greatly missed, her spirit lives on in the beauty and love of the family she and Ed created and she absolutely will never be forgotten.
