Devoted son, adoring brother, doting father, loving husband, and a compassionate friend to all...Joel-David Broussard of Elk Grove, CA made his transition on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at 5:40 pm. Joel left this earthly realm as the result of an eleven car pile up, automobile crash on I-5 while driving home from work, only 3 exits away from his home.
Born on August 7, 1981, to parents Alvin and Irma Broussard of Beaumont, Texas, Joel was a remarkable young man who displayed signs of distinction very early on in his life, loving to wear suits as young as 3 years old. He was the youngest of Irma & Al’s three children and lived most of his life in California, after having spent some time in both Houma, LA and Albany, GA...where he served the community there as a firefighter in both areas. After moving back to California, he worked as a realtor and spent several years in management at the Coca Cola Bottling company in Sacramento, CA.
At the time right before his transition, Joel worked for Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics as the Practice Manager in the Folsom, CA location, where he was admired and respected by his staff, peers, and the administrative team alike. He also was a certified life coach, which was his ultimate passion, and also took pride in working diligently in his Elk Grove community...from running for mayor in 2016...to feeding the homeless, home cooked meals in the park, to volunteering to give blood on a consistent basis. To his friends, and to those he proudly mentored, he was known as both ‘Ace’ and ‘Coach’. He also had the distinction of being an amazing cook, with barbecue being his specialty.
In March of 2001, Joel met and fell in love with the love of his life and his soulmate, Angela Appleby, who he lovingly called ‘Ang’. They were married on January 10, 2004 and they had four beautiful children, Alyssa, ‘Deuce’, Arielle and Jaiden. Joel loved being a father. whether it was joking around and playing games during family game night, to helping his kids in sports and after school activities, he was always there to participate in every way. The family camping trips on Father's Day weekend was a family favorite...to just get away from the everyday hustle and bustle and really get in some quality time with his wife and kiddos. These activities will be missed greatly and treasured forever. His love and devotion for his wife and kids is evident by the way he lovingly shared his beautiful family life on Facebook, with his daily posts that were thoughtful...some funny and often he shared posts that were inspirational. His work ethic and effervescent personality caused him to be sought out by many.
Joel's love and memories will remain in the hearts of his wife of 17 years, Angela Broussard; his daughters, Alyssa and Arielle Broussard; his sons, Joel ll "Deuce" and Jaiden Broussard. Also left to cherish his memories are his sister and brother in law, Karona and Lebert Eldemire; his brother and sister in law, Alvin and Dezirai Broussard; his nephews and nieces, Landon, Alex, Tristen, Rylee, Dylan, Bella and Austin. He was proceeded in his transition in 2009 by his loving father, Alvin J. Broussard, Sr., while leaving to cherish his memory his loving mother, Irma Broussard, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins, and a countless number of precious, devoted friends.
Joel David Broussard...we love you and will miss you, yesterday, tomorrow, and until we meet again.
