Dorothy Lee Bachmayer Nejtek passed away on September 11 at the age of 84. She was born on September 25, 1935, in Taylor, Texas. Dorothy lived in Central Texas all of her life, moving to Austin as a newlywed and then to Cedar Park to raise her family and finally retiring to Pflugerville. She spent more than 20 years working at Bealls Department Stores where she enjoyed interacting with customers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nejtek, and parents, Leonard Bachmayer and Rosie Bachmayer Ross. She leaves behind: sons Ron Nejtek (and Lyn), David Nejtek, Rusty Nejtek (and Nina) and Mike Nejtek (and Sandy); daughters Deborah Carruth and Karen Nejtek; grandchildren: Chris (and Samantha), Andrew and Kevin Nejtek and Nicole Little (and R.J.), Phylicia Bucanek (and Seth), Ethan Carruth, Jennifer Baker (and Randy), Meagan Flores (and Anthony) and Ryan Mathews; great-grandchildren: Joshua and Brantley Baker and Emily, Anthony and Kenzie Flores; and siblings Beatrice Kruse and Leonard and Glen Bachmayer; along with many friends and extended family members.
No public services will be held. Visitation for family will be held Saturday, September 19, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Committal service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor Dorothy, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to your local food bank.
Due to the substantial public risk, city and state government mandates that social gatherings of limited amounts occur only with strict social distancing protocol.
