Martha Morris Evans, age 81 of Arlington, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2020. She was born on October 26, 1938 in Waco, Texas, the daughter of Aubrey Morris and Johnnie Mae Shook Morris. Martha married Marcus H. Evans, Jr. on December 26, 1973 and he survives.
Martha was a graduate of Baylor University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then worked as an English and Latin teacher for Nimitz High School in Irving, retiring after 20 years of service. Martha enjoyed playing Bridge and all types of card and board games. She was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. She was a social woman and loved being with people and entertaining, sometimes with a joyful toast with pink champagne or a chilled lemon drop martini. Martha was a member of the Red Hat Society at Fox Run. She was quick witted with a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and smile. One of her favorite sayings that family and friends will remember of hers: Bloom where you are planted and live life to the fullest.
Martha is survived by her husband, Marcus; son Aubrey C. Robinson; daughter Laurie D. Robinson and wife Gayla Adams; grandchildren Justin Robinson and Stephanie Robinson; great grandson Buddy Lee Robinson; step-children John Scott Evans and husband Will Crockett, Melissa Flautt, and Lya McNeill; sister-in-law Magdalene Morris; brother-in-law John Rufus “Bunche” Evans and wife Peggy; and dear friends Carmen Calderon, Diedre Long, Brenda Woodward, Sandra Chestnut, and her family at Fox Run.
