She was born in Houston, TX on August 11, 1940. Dorothy graduated from Lamar High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Houston and a Post Graduate Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from College without Walls.
She married her husband, Jerald Wayne Fletcher on December 29, 1961.
Dorothy had a career as a business owner and teacher for many years. Dorothy loved the Lord and had a passion for decorating, gardening, and collecting vintage jewelry. She was a member of several organizations including the Houston Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.
She is survived by her husband, Jerald, her son, Ken and his wife, Lisa, and daughter, Christy, as well as her sister Grace Scott, and many other relatives and friends that she loved.
A Funeral Service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 at 2:00pm on Friday September 18, 2020.
