Bob D. Diffee of Midwest City passed peacefully away early in the morning of September 14, 2020 after a short cardiac-related illness. Bob was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who was very loved and who will be deeply missed forever. His absence will leave a heartbreaking void that can never be filled.
Bob was born May 18, 1927 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Jeffrey and Ora Leah Diffee. He married Norma Jean in March 1954. Two children were born to this union--Debra and Steven. Norma preceded him in death. He was also married to Theresa who died in 2014. He is survived by his companion Laverne Carroll who lovingly cared for him in his later years.
In 1944 after walking away from a catastrophic train-car collision with only a few broken ribs due to what he considered a miraculous save, he adopted the attitude that each day was a gift.
Bob retired from the federal government in 1982 which enabled him to pursue his lifelong avocation full-time: Trading, training, and riding horses. Bob was involved in establishing the quarter horse racetrack in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He rode horses until he was in his 70s. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Bob was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church and Country Estates Baptist Church, and had a group of walking friends at Wickline Baptist Church where they met twice a week. He had many friends who will be missing him very much.
Bob is survived by son Steven D. Diffee, daughter Debra D. Baldwin (Rich), and grandchildren Alana Baldwin and Kelsey Leah Baldwin Judge (Nathan), great granddaughter Addison Marie Judge, Col. Brian Baldwin (Sharolyn), Brent Baldwin (Stacey), Julie Baldwin, Emmitt Baldwin, Bryn Baldwin, Britta Baldwin, nephew and niece Jimmie and Marilyn Pulliam, grandnieces Shelley Pulliam, Terri Pulliam Baker, and Cindy Vitt.
Visitation will be from 12-4pm Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. Graveside services will be at 10am Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
