On Saturday, September 19th, the Abdelnour family lost their hero unexpectedly. Philip W Abdelnour, loving husband and the father of three children suddenly passed away at the age of 55. He had just returned to the yard at JB Hunt in Brattleboro, VT where he was employed as a truck driver for many years. Phil enjoyed working for JB Hunt and had a lot of great friends there he considered to be a wonderful benefit.
In 1990 Phil married Jennifer Ewell, together they had three children. One son, William Abdelnour and two daughters, Susan Marotte and Christine Abdelnour-McKenna. Family was. everything to him, he adored his children and had a unique and special connection with each one of them.
Phil was born in Boston, MA and raised in Brockton, MA. He was one of four children. His father, the late Edward Abdelnour was a postal carrier. His mom, the late Marie Abdelnour was a nurse and a homemaker. Phil used to enjoy telling stories of the crazy mischief his two brothers and sister would get into.
Leaving behind his wife Jennifer, his son William and his wife Amanda (White), his daughter Susan and her husband Aaron Marrotte and his daughter Christine and her husband Daniel McKenna. Two grandsons, Logan Marotte and Jackson Abdelnour and his one granddaughter Lillian Abdelnour. Brother Edward Abdelnour II and his wife Debra, his little sister Theresa and her husband William Sutermeister and his younger brother Andrew Abdelnour and his wife Tanya and many beloved nephews and nieces.
When Susan and Aaron first told Phil he was going to be a grandfather he couldn’t believe that anything could have made him happier, until William and Amanda announced that they were also expecting their first child only three months later. Logan and Lillian arrived only 10 weeks apart. Two years later Jackson Abdelnour arrived, Phil was especially proud to have a grandson to carry on the Abdelnour name.
Only six weeks ago Phil walked his youngest daughter, Christine down the aisle when she married Daniel McKenna in a private ceremony. Also in attendance were his three granddogs. Louie, Dolly and Cece.
Phil was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, he loved fishing on his boat, playing guitar, gardening and spending time with family. Blessed with a slightly sarcastic sense of humor he gave everyone he met a unique nickname, most often it was a term of endearment.
In closing, in Phil’s own words - “I love you and I’ll see you later.”
There will be private service held on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
