Adventurous: That word describes Kevin
Graduated Calhoun High School
Graduated from TSTI in Waco with an associates degree in diesel technology
He got a job on a 65’ sail boat that sailed from Miami to the Bimini Islands in the Bahamas where he worked as head engineer. He adapted to island life quite well, came home with shoulder length hair that had braids and beads and full facial hair.
He then graduated from Victoria College then transferred to Texas A&M in Corpus Christi where he graduated with a degree in mari culture (study of fish).
He also taught scuba diving off oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico for Texas A&M. He also worked on shrimp farms for Texas A&M and a farm in Rio Hondo, TX.
Adventurousness came to life in him again…
He did research on shrimp farming and found a job in Guyaquil, Ecuador, South America. There he managed a huge shrimp farm.
9/11 happened and things shut down.
He came home found a job in Waterbury, Connecticut building and installing aquatic systems for cancer research using eggs from frogs and fish. He has units in MD Anderson, Yale, University of Minnesota, Southern California, and other locations.
He then moved back to Texas when he got a grant to do aquaponics (growing plants without soil)
He took care of his father when dying of cancer.
He was on church parish council. Wanted to teach adults about their Catholic faith and scripture study.
On January 1, 2020 he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
He faced his diagnosis with courage and faith in God ministering to those that cared for him throughout his 9 ½ month battle with cancer.
On Tuesday September 29, 2020 he joined Jesus and family members in heaven.

Kevin John DeBault, 52 of Inez passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He was born July 18, 1968 in Port Lavaca to John and Donna Kinder DeBault. Kevin was an aguaculturist and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Donna Kinder DeBault, brother, Scott (Traci) DeBault of Point Comfort, niece, Alex DeBault and a nephew, Allen DeBault.
He was preceded in death by his father, John DeBault on March 6, 2019.
Visitation will be 9-10 AM, Monday, October 5, 2020 with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM and the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez. Graveside services and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Sternadel, Jim Sheppard, Alex DeBault, Michael DeBault, Allen DeBault, Bill Kloesel, David Walther, Gary Winter and Robert Hairell. Kevin’s cousins and his pharmacal friends will serves as honorary pallbearers.
