Margaret Anne Liebscher

Margaret Anne Jones Liebscher, who left this world on October 2, 2020, was born December 17, 1939 to Clarence E. & Katie Walker Jones in Reidsville, NC. Margaret grew up in Reidsville, NC, the oldest of three girls. She was a smart, vivacious, adventurous and mischievous tomboy. She married the love of her life, Walter C. Liebscher on June 2, 1956 at her family church, Mizpah United Methodist Church in Reidsville, NC.

She and Walter began a love affair that never wavered, through 4 children and 64 years of married life, including moves from Reidsville to Wilmington, back to Reidsville, to Hubert, and lastly to Clemmons.

She taught her children to love deeply and fiercely. She taught us to reach for our dreams and she showed us what love, sacrifice, commitment and loyalty were. She walked the walk for us. She would always listen, offer advice and be ready to “GO” at the drop of a hat. She loved to be out and about. Everyone loved Mom’s contagious laugh, her beaming smile and her dancing eyes.

Margaret held various jobs in her life, elementary school secretary, legal secretary, retail manager, district manager, but none of them compared to her title of Wife, Mom, Granny and GiGi. A:nd boy, did she love her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of them and she showed them in oh, so many ways, how much fun a Mom & Granny could be.

She was blessed to be a member of 2 wonderful churches: Mizpah United Methodist Church and Harmony Grove United Methodist Church. She loved both of her church families and her love of singing was infectious. She loved to sing the old hymns while beaming like the sun. She was active in her church, serving on various committees and always giving 100% to help.

She leaves behind her cherished husband, Walter C. Liebscher; her children: Anita Liebscher-Lantz (Barry Lantz), Walter C. (Chuck) Liebscher II (Jane Sharpe Liebscher), Beverly Wischnowsky (Duane Wischnowsky), Kimberly Marpoe(Tracy Marpoe); Grandchildren: Brittany Cobb(Tim Venth), Liza Willey(Zachary Willey), Walter C.(Trey) Liebscher, III(Deanna Liebscher), Cole Liebscher, Giovanni Modica, Jessa Modica, Margaret Marpoe, and Sydney Marpoe; and Great Grandchildren: Finn, Violet and Piper Willey, Luca Modica and Arabella Sharpe; Sisters: Sandra Apple and Pat Gaines (Frank); Sister-In-Law: Sylvia Freeman.

Mom, we know you are running barefoot in the soft green grass in heaven and playing in the creeks. We will all try to carry on your spirit and love of life and we will hold you in our hearts until we see you again.
