John Allen Ketola, born Jan 11, 1943 to John L. Ketola and Emma A. (Lundstrom) Ketola and died on Oct 3, 2020. He started out life on the Iron Range, as a teenager moved to the twin cities area and graduated from Johnson High School in 1961. It was at Johnson where he met his sweetheart and future wife, Paulette D. (Cory) Ketola. They were united in marriage June 9, 1962 until Paulette passed away in 2001. Their union produced 3 children. Daughter's Sherri (John) Easterday, Bonnie (Carla Kahle) Ketola, and an infant son who died shortly after birth, David John Ketola. John eventually moved the family to northern MN and took over the family hobby farm. Many fond memories of the farm are still shared by all who came to visit and the children who were raised there.
John held many different and interesting jobs throughout his life. He worked until his retirement at US Steel in Mt Iron, MN as a painter. Upon retiring John and Paulette aspired to be snow birds and their heart longed for the deserts of AZ. Eventually as grandchildren entered the family they moved back to MN where John started his own business finding unclaimed property. John resided in the twin cities area until his death.
Grandchildren were the pride and joy of both John and Paulette. John has 4 grandchildren; John Jr, Matthew (Stacy), Alesha (Travis) and Jolene along with 3 great grandchildren; Kaleb, Prescott and Eddison. We are comforted knowing that John and Paulette are together once again, it was a long wait. John had a special friend, Marilyn, who filled in as his travel partner and companion until his death.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, both parents and infant son.
