She worked 30+ years as a housekeeper at Kamlu Retirement Inn. Adele belonged to ABWA for many years; served on the PTA for 24 years; and volunteered with Bloodworks NW, where she was the juice and cookie lady for years. It is no surprise that her caring and nurturing spirit earned her Volunteer of the Year.
Mom treasured her family above all, but enjoyed her gardening, neighbors, traveling, and her volunteer work with Bloodworks NW and FISH. She was always involved in our school activities.
Adele was always ready to help, it didn't matter whether it was family, friends, neighbors or a stranger. She was also a bit of a lead foot driver, so we kids have Mom to thank for the trait we all share.
Adele is survived by daughter Molly Miner (Ken); daughter Lou Ann Tabor (Jay); son Lyle Johnston; son Miles Johnston (Lauretta); and daughter-in-law Sandy Johnston.
Adele was preceded in death by her husband Merle Johnston; son Douglas Johnston.
Adele also leave behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A family graveside service for Adele will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Northwood Park Cemetery.
