Boston native George D. Morse, 59 years old, beloved brother and son, passed away at his home in Deerfield Beach, Florida, during the early morning hours on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020. He is survived by his mother, Annemarie Nocera, and sister Michelle Morse, of Boca Raton, Florida, and brother Wayne Morse of Venice, California and his late brother, Paul Morse, his extended family, all the Nocera's, step brothers and step sister, his aunt and uncle, Peter & Angie Scifo of Connecticut and his many cousins whom he grew up with. George was loved and cherished by so much family and so many friends, too many too list, in Massachusetts, and Florida.
George served in the United States Air Force and had an honorable discharge in the 1980’s. From there he found a long career in hospitality working for the Long Wharf Marriott in Boston. He moved to Florida in 1992 and worked for the City of Deerfield Beach for many years before getting injured on the job and subsequently moving on to a sales career.
George always considered himself a “true Bostonian”. He was truly a unique, one-of-a-kind character. Everyone who knew George or came in contact with him loved him immediately. George had a smile for everyone and had such a gift of making people laugh. He was able to tell the best stories with such minutia and humor that kept people wanting to hear more.
George also loved his Boston sports teams. He belonged to a fantasy football league. He was a natural at picking winning plays. His friends in the league would become his “second family”.
George loved his “boys”, Sylvester and Blackee, 2 rescue cats that were his pride and joy. George was a generous supporter of rescuing and feeding the feral cat communities in South Florida and did so for many years. He got such joy from it and said it was his way of giving back and he continued to do so until almost the end.
