Veronica Esmeralda Jackson affectionately known as "Miss Mack”, was daughter of the late Lazarus and Aglintine Reynolds. She was born on March 13, 1935 in West Moreland, Negril Jamaica. She is the oldest of twelve siblings and loved and protected them. She attended the Negril public school, in Jamaica.
Veronica migrated to New York City, and there she worked at Lenox Hill Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over thirty years. She was valued by her peers and co-workers for her hard work.
She was united in matrimony to Lloyd Jackson in December of 1959. From that union, they raised their daughter, Yvette and step-daughter Sonia. They had a happy and caring marriage. Veronica was a submissive wife and spoke to her husband with respect and love. She worked just as hard in the home as she did at work. When Lloyd made a plan, Veronica loyally supported her husband. She did that until the day he passed on March 2, 2016.
Veronica by nature was a quiet person, speaking only when she felt her point needed to be made. She held her responsibilities very seriously and all in the family were recipients of it. She loved music, enjoying the rhythm of Caribbean beats. Once retired from secular work, she tapped into her creative side, whether it was ceramics or crocheting the results were beautiful. Her favorite pastime was playing "Find the Word" and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Veronica is survived by: her devoted daughter, Yvette; her loving step-daughter, Sonia; her doting grandson, Sheridan; her caring granddaughter; Lisé, baby brothers, Ansell, Basel, Tony, and Colin; and baby sisters, Ann, Jackie, Verona, and Pet; a host of nieces, nephews, as well as other dear family, friends and neighbors.
Veronica, our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend will be missed dearly.
